Nou kè vwé nou pli ta

Well I have made it down here to cappesterre and it is super awesome, I'm loving it so much! I'm not going to lie though, the first night going up that hill on a bike was pretty tiring! I was dripping sweat and all my clothes were soaking! I felt great though after! Right now, Elder savage is just working on showing me all of their investigators right now so i'm just trying to work on getting all of that down! We actually just had the opportunity to set a baptismal date with one of our investigators! It was an awesome experience! Last night we were in a lesson with a family and it became pretty interesting because we were trying to teach authority and how the restoration has given us the authority again! One of the investigators decided to take us on a little side note and started talking about how any body can have the holy ghost if they are worthy! It got a little interesting and then we decided to share the baptism with jesus christ in the book of mormon and the bible and they helped them get back on track and we helped them understand that someone has to have the authority from god to do things like baptism! it just goes to show how powerful the scriptures are! But things are going great here! I love this area and I'm super excited to start working here with Elder Savage! He is awesome and works hard! I love being on bikes to because I get the opportunity to speak to everyone!
But sounds like everyone is doing great! I love you all so much and I'm thankful for all of the love and support! I'm sorry if you email me and I don't email you back! It's not that I don't like you ;) jk haha have an amazing week!

Cappesterre!!

Well I received my transfer call and I'm staying on the Island but I'm moving downt to cappesterre with Elder Savage! We were in the MTC together but I'm super pumped to go down there! It way beautiful and I will be on bikes :) Time to stop being fat haha! This will be really good for me and I've always wanted to be on bikes! I promised myself a better week this past week and it was a better week for me! There was some difficult things that came up but overall the week was great! Last Sunday we were talking with one of our investigators and she told us she was ready to get baptized and so we sat and talked for a little about what day would work best for her but we ended up telling her to pray about it and we would talk about it the following Tuesday. So Tuesday rolls around and we go over to her house all excited for her and what not. We started talking and asking what day she felt was best and she ended up telling us that she doesn't want to get baptized anymore and that she is going to stop coming to church. Elder Galati and I looked at each other and were so surprised! We tried helping her realize that she had received a testimony of the Book of Mormon and all the answers she had received to her prayers! It turns out that she was talking to her husband and he won't let her be baptized. He is completely against it, and he refuses to meet with the missionaries. So we have definitely hit a big wall there. We talked with the district President and the branch is fasting this Sunday so that hopefully the husband can open is heart to the gospel. We are hoping and praying for the best! We will see what happens! I'm a little sad because I won't be able to see what happens because I will be down in Cappesterre but it will still be great! I'm excited to go down there and be on bikes! It will get me back into shape! I've suffered big time being in a car, and now my first couple days on bikes is going to be killer because I'm so out of shape! Things are going great and I'm super excited to move down to Cappesterre! I love you all so much and I hope that everyone is doing great! Thank you for all the love and support!! Have an amazing week!! :) Love Elder Peterson

Ahhh bbeeeennn!

I don't even remember what happened this week...... haha this is getting bad! That is so awesome Ben got his call! Tell him congrats for me! Three missionaries from the same family at once! That is pretty great! And I was glad to hear that everyone had great weeks!!
Our week here definitely wasn't the best but it was still good! We are having a hard time setting solid appointments and this has been happening now for a little while and we are trying to figure out how to get out of it! We have noticed our weeks are up and down. One week we will have just an awesome week and the next week can be totally different. We have been having a hard time setting solid appointments and that has been dominating our weeks! This week we are going to apply some things that we have thought might help! We know things will come back around!! On a side note though, we had a lady who has committed to baptism in the next couple weeks! We are super excited! It's actually the mother of the teenager that was baptized not to long ago! We have been working with her now for awhile and we were super happy that she had made the choice to be baptized! It was pretty funny because we went over to their house last night and we took like 30 min. just trying to figure out what day was the best for here and it got pretty funny for some reason. She also asked us if the baptismal font water was gold! We told her it comes right out of the Fridge haha! We are super happy for her though! It's great!
This is a short letter but that's all I really have! I hope that everyone has an amazing week! I thank you all for all the love and support that I have received! I love you all!!:) have a great week!!

GWADA

Wow, very fast week. It's terrible because when it comes time to send emails I can never remember half of the stuff we did haha. Short term memory loss coming in at an early age! But we did have a pretty awesome week! Another baptism which was a huge blessing. Her name is Maryse and we started meeting with her like at the beginning of February. When we first started seeing her she told us she had a problem seeing the importance of the Word of wisdom. She would say, what is the problem with having a beer every now and again. We tried to help her understand that the word of wisdom was a commandment given through a modern day prophet and that the blessings are great when we show our love for god instead of worldly things. After the lesson was over we could tell that she still didn't really understand. The next lesson we had with her we could tell something was different. We started it off as usual by asking about the commitments that we had left with her and then we asked her how her reading in the scriptures was going and she ended up telling us that she had came across a scripture that said that we are to do things with a soberness but she couldn't really remember where it was at. But she told us that really hit her and made her realize the importance behind the Word of Wisdom! And from there on she was constantly progressing towards baptism! So cool and such a huge blessing! It just goes to show how powerful the scriptures are and that when we read them, it gives the spirit a chance to talk to us!
Like I said the week went by super fast, but great things still happened. I had the opportunity on Sunday to let the branch know how missionary work has been going and it really made me think about how much its changed since I've got here! The members are really starting to make the effort and they are all starting to see that the success comes from them. At least that's what I told them haha! We could go out and street contact or go door to door all day but so far, that doesn't really get us anywhere. I've seen what the members can do and what success they bring to their branch and they are doing a great job! The lord is hastening his work here! Less than a year ago, there wasn't even 10 missionaries on this Island and now there is 18 and it can only grow from here on out! I love the mission and it is super legit!
It was Elder Galati's year mark the other night so we celebrated by eating a bunch of Bokit's and burning one of his shirts ha! It was pretty great! Oh and we found the only store here that sales dr pepper so we bought as much as we could. Now I'm happy :)
But I hope that all is going great back home! Happy birthday to Ty! Time is flying by!! I thank you all for your love and support and I hope that the coming week is a great one! I send my love!! :) A Bientot!

Spring Time!

That was a super quick week! I don't really know where to even begin! We have been blessed with some really great investigators that are progressing really well and we have been working pretty hard with them! We have been trying to increase our teaching pool because we have decided that when people start getting baptized, which they will :) the people we will have to teach will decrease. So the goal for us this coming week is to bridge that gap so that we have a lot of people that we can go see. We want to really try and get our members involved into our work too and so far that has been working great! The success there has been increasing ever since I got here! So that is good news! We have a baptism coming up here this coming Saturday that we are really excited for! It's a huge blessing to be able to baptize and be a part of people's conversions! There is one investigator that we have that we have been working with for awhile now that we have been having a pretty hard time with. He comes to church every Sunday and continues to meet with us but the problem is he has a hard time accepting doctrine that we share. These experiences that we have had with him show me how powerful the scriptures are. I say that because when we share scriptures that contain points of doctrine, he has a very hard time arguing against it. He still has a little bit of a problem accepting that the book of Mormon is scriptures or inspired of God. He is a great guy though and we love him. We hope that we can help him find his purpose in life!
I've been reading the Book of Mormon in French this whole transfer and I've been surprised at how much I do understand in it. My verbal vocabulary has been a little discouraging however. I find myself understanding what people are saying but then when I say something it doesn't even make sense. I need to apply the language more and I know that will come around! Life has been going great though and things are going well! We have been having a lot of success and I'm super grateful for that! I shouldn't even be complaining about my French, there is a sister that was called english side and when she got here, President Mehr sent her to French side without knowing any French!! But she has been doing awesome!
Thanks for all of the emails and all the love and support! I hope everything is going well back home and that the warm weather is coming around for everyone! I send my love and prayers!! :) Have an amazing week!!
