Chouette

Well tell congrats to my hoser brother, I knew he wouldn't last long. Haha freaking dur! But that's super cool! I'm happy for him! Hope she is pretty legit. She has some shoes to fill ;) haha All I want when I get back is a dirtbike or something like that ha! Oh and I received a whole bunch of christmas cards this past week and the package from the weese family! I really really appreciate all the love and support that everyone has been giving me! I love you all! :) thank you so so much!! Oh and I got a letter from some of the leaders of our ward and Brad's note was pretty funny I found! It said, "This mission stuff is a lot funner than getting smoked by an old man in a race huh?" I had a good laugh with that! Just tell him wait till I get back! haha

The week was super great! We had an awesome zone conference and it was fun to have everyone together! I love when the Mission President is here! There is a cool feeling about it! We all predict that he will become an apostle some day because he speaks with a lot of power! and he is a genius when it comes to doctrinal stuff! Zone conference we talked about the atonement and why it is important that we stress baptism! Anyone can repent and be forgiven for their sins but to have the sins taken away we need to be baptized for "the remission of sins!" It is a covenant we make with our father in heaven to obey his commandments and do the things he has asked of us! So that was pretty cool stuff. Also in my personal studies I have been learning a lot about the atonement and Jesus Christ. It's really cool how much we can learn from the bible and the Book of Mormon together! Just go read Mosiah 15: 1-3. You'll know what I'm talking about!

We didn't have the chance to see a lot of our investigators this past week which was kind of a bummer but we are praying that this week will go really well! We are praying for baptisms here and we know that the lord will deliver as long as we keep our end of the bargain! Today we went to point de chateau with all the missionaries of Guadeloupe and that was pretty sweet to watch the sunrise and all of the sweetness! But anyways I send all my love and thanks to all of you! I pray that everyone with have a great week and have the spirit to be with them! I'm so grateful for all of you and all you do for me! I love you!! Love Elder Peterson!

IT'S STARTING TO GET HOT AGAIN.

Well here we are, almost 5 months in, and it definitely doesn't feel like it has been that long. Maybe 2 months haha! But I'm not keeping track, I'm just enjoying the time I do have here because I have noticed that it is going to go by way fast! Life is going really well here! As the days go by I start to get more into the habit of doing things so it's becoming a lot easier for me. Not easier but more of something that I know how to do haha! I love it though. I'm starting to learn ways of working that are more successful than others which is pretty nice! I'm no longer really a blue which means the new guy ha!

The week was good for us here! We have a big group of really good investigators that are progressing really well! We had a few baptismal dates set but we had to cancel a lot because we weren't seeing the progression from the investigators but we know they will make it to baptism sometime soon in the future. We need to work really hard for them and do everything that we can to help them receive a testimony of these things. We are praying that all continues to go well for them! We have been a little nervous to go into Point-A-Pitre this past week because it's carnival season here and these people party a little to hard, and crazy partying! I don't know if I told you last week but we drove right into the middle of it and it was like a giant parade and all the people were just like staring at us like, what are these two white kids doing here haha! It was kind of sketchy but pretty cool experience! But that is all I really have to say about this week! We are just trying to work hard and try and help our investigators get to where they need to be! We will see what happens!

This week is zone conference and we are excited for that! It's always super cool to have our mission President here! But I hope everyone has a super great week and I send all my love and thanks to everyone :) Thank for all the love and support! I really appreciate you all! Have a very great week! :)
Love Elder Peterson!

JE SUIS UNE ANANA!

To start things off, I just barely received the package with the snow and the ornaments in it. They took a very long time! But it was a super nice surprise to have all of those fun notes :) So thank you to everyone who to the time to write a little note on there for me! I really appreciate that! It was pretty cool that I could read Mrs. Parks letter and understand it! :) Shows me really what I'm capable of if I really apply myself! Wish that I would have done that more when I was actually in French class haha! But thanks again to everyone who sent me a note!

Anyways the week was great for Elder Galati and I! We really have some great investigators and they are progressing really well for us. I've been really learning a lot lately about teaching and what it means to follow the spirit and to teach to peoples needs. The French is coming a long and I have noticed that when I really take my time to do my language study the French comes a lot easier. I've also noticed that I can't be afraid of talking to people even if I think that I don't know the language. It's really cool how the spirit feels my heart when I share this message and how it can help me speak the language :) My testimony grows more and more every single day and I'm so thankful for that. Lately I've been thinking about how lucky I am to be here and that I get to serve The Lord full time! It's a blessing! Elder Galati has been helping me out with my French and all of that and we are getting a long great! We are hoping that we will have a lot of baptismal dates here coming up soon because all of our investigators are progressing so much. As I see their concerns and worries in life, it just makes me reflect my life and how thankful I am to know this gospel and to have a testimony of it that is strenthened more and more each day! But with the investigators we will see what God has in store for them and we will continue to pray for them! They have all become very good friends of mine and I always look forward to seeing them :) We have a teenage boy that we always go play basketball with and we have a good time with him!

The other day we were teaching a lady who is advantist or however you spell that and she kind of dominated me haha! We were talking about the Book of mormon and she was just having a really hard time just accepting the idea of the book of mormon and all of the that because she was saying the the Bible is all she needed. Well I said to her, "Je veux que vous lirez dans le Livre de Mormon et que vous priez pour savoir que ces choses sont vraie." which translates to, I want you to read and pray to know that these things are true. Anyways she kind of went of on me saying that oh you want me to pray and read? Not God? haha it was crazy but pretty funny I thought!

I'm working on sending pictures but it is kind of a pain with the whole format problem. I may wait till I get the card reader so be patient :) But I appreciate all of the pictures and all the letters I receive! They are always so great to look at and read! Looks like everyone is doing really well and I hope you all continue to be great! I hope you have an amazing week and that you enjoy all the snow you can get! :) I love you all!!

2014

Well Happy New Year! I still feel like it is 2013 because usually the snow signals a new year for me but here on this Island snow doesn't exist so I think my mind is a little thrown off cause it is still expecting snow! This is an awesome change though! Lately here on Guadeloupe, the weather has been awesome! That or I'm just getting used to the heat! But anyways, I'm looking forward to this new year and being able to serve the Lord and put all of my efforts into inviting others to come unto Christ! It is going to be a great year!!

This week for us has been pretty great! It was weird saying goodbye to Elder Pratt or my "Father" as most missionaries say, and welcoming back Elder Galati! I learned a lot from Elder Pratt and he was a great example to me of what I needed to do in the Mission. He will be awesome down in French Guyana! So far, Elder Galati and I have been doing great together. Our teaching needs a little work as it does with most new companionship's but he has really been helping me out with everything! It's been great! This week we made a goal with our District President to have 10 baptisms a month on Guadeloupe and it made me pumped! It makes me really want to work hard and do everything that I can to help achieve this goal! Our area is doing pretty well! A cool little experience, Elder Pratt had contacted a group of Haitians while I was getting legalized one day and we went and saw them for the first time this week. We finished discussing the Restoration with them and they all said, "when can we get this Book of Mormon?!" It was super cool I thought! And it was definitely a blessing! As the weeks go by, I'm learning more and more! I'm so thankful for the opportunity I have to be here on a mission, it is such a blessing in my life!

Oh yeah and we have had a mice problem this past week, so we went out and got some traps and sure enough we keep catching mice! Dang things haha! But life is great here! I hope that everyone is doing great and I wish you all a happy new years! I love you all so much and I appreciate all the letters and everything that you have sent me! :) I love you all and have a great week! Love Elder Peterson!!
